In the pictures below Maple's puppies are 3 and a half weeks old. It's amazing how much they have grown since they were born and how different they look since they first made their appearance. Their eyes are fully opened and they can now hear. They are able to walk with much more stability and have realized to their joy that they have other little brothers and sisters to play with. They are also aware of people and will excitedly give a wag of their tails or kisses to their visitors. They love being cuddled and will climb on any willing lap. This is a big week for them as they will have their first taste of solid food and their whelping box will get opened up so they have more room to move around and play. I will be bringing out numerous toys for them to play with. They will also start learning about using the newspapers for their bathroom duties. They are continuing to grow nicely and have guadrupled in weight since they were born. See how they hardly fit in the basket on the scale pictured above. |
