| 6 1/2 WEEKS OLD |

| The pups are in the 'HOME stretch" now (excuse the pun). It has been another very busy week for them. They had their very first car ride when I brought them to the vet for their physical checkups. Although they were not too happy with this endeavor and didn't hesitate to let me know most of the entire hour-long ride there and back, I felt it was a complete success. As expected, all the pups examinations confirm their good health. My vet even commented on what great bone structure they have and on how beautiful they are (tell me something, I don't know, please). To help them with their adjustment to the many new things they will encounter, I had them listen numerous time during the week to a recording of many different sounds that they may hear in their new locations, like ambulances, fireworks, vacumn cleaners, and even a baby crying, to name a few. They also had to wear regular collars so when they get their new ones from their families they won't feel so uncomfortable and itchy to them. The weather was nice a few days, so they and Maple were able to spend more time outside getting fresh air. They loved the Puppy testing ( PAT test) my friend Pat (too many Pat's) gave them today. Who knew a test could be so much fun? Then finally my husband Al and I gave them their last bath here, so they will be ready to meet their new families and bring joy to many people in their lifetimes. |
