      In the photos below the pups were
just born a couple of hours earlier.

Newborn golden retriever  puppies only
weigh about 1 pound.   Their eyes and
ears are still sealed, so they cannot see
nor hear yet.  They rely on their sense of
smell to find mom and  her milk, and can
crawl to get around.  They are born with
a very strong suckling reflex.

      While sleeping,  you will see their  
body jerk and twitch quite frequently.  
This is normal for a healthy pup.

       Notice how their noses are  pink.
