Brazin welcomed her first puppy into the world at almost 2 O'clock
Wednesday morning. As with her first litter, she delivered on the
actual due date, and whelped 7 pups both times. How's that for
consistancy? Works for me. This time around she did not have to
have a C-section, and was not surprised to find some new little
bodies and wondering where they came from. She made it seem so
painless and easy (NOT - we mothers know better). She is a great
mom.
The pups are are a good weight, and they each wasted no time
mastering the act of nursing. Brazin is feeling much more energetic
now, which is evidenced by the fact that when she goes outside, to
take care of her personal needs, she is back to taunting her sister
Rascal. She tugs on Rascal's collar in an attempt to convince her to
play.
Wines are the theme for this litter. My friend and whelping
assistant, Lorie is every knowledgable about all the different wines.
Since I have had so many various themes already, she suggested
different wines for my theme. I thought it was a good choice too.
But the fact is that, anybody who will change their work schedule
to work from home, so to be on call for me, and get up in the middle
of the night to help, certainly deserves to choose the theme. Don't
you think? Of course, my husband Al, would gladly have
helped too, but let's face it, the poor guy would
have no choice, if no one else was available.
As you can see several of the wines are of the
sweet variety. Since, I am not a wine connesour,
I figured I would just name a few of the pups with
some of my favorites.

Someone's going to be hungry when she awakes.

After the pups are all cleaned, tagged and settled in, it is time for mom. She has been bathed and gets a big meal since it has been a while since she ate last. I am sure she worked up ravenous appetite by now.
