April, who is Brazin's puppy from her first litter, born February 18, 2013, came to stay for a week. She had a special surprise, as she met her new full sisters and brothers. April takes after both her mom with her similar looks, her dad, Pazzo, with her full fluffy coat, and both with her high intelligence and incredible temperament. She is another beauty! Don't you agree?

The puppies have grown so much in the last 3 weeks. Their teeth are coming in and it is time to move on to bigger and better things. This is the first time they are trying solid food. They all liked it right away. Of course, they will still be nursing from mom for a while, and don't hesitate to grab a quick drink while she does cleanup detail.

This has been a very busy period of time
for the 3 week old puppies. Their legs
are much stronger now, so they can stay
up on all fours for longer periods, although
they do still manage to topple over if they
try going
too far, too fast. Their eyes have fully
opened and they can hear quite well now.

With all this happening to the pups, they are finding they have a
whole new world to experience, starting with the realization that
they have siblings to play with. They even started tugging on a toy
I hung in their box. Good thing it wasn't a brother or sister on the
other end of those sharp teeth!
The time has come to expand their horizons and open up more space
for them in the whelping box as they continue to learn more.
The pups were old enough to have company visit them this
weekend, and they were thrilled to spend this time being cuddled by
their new prospective families. I know I don't even have to mention
how happy the families were to meet them. The pups were quite
curious, and you could just see how they were loving the attention.
Some were even were attempting to climb out of the box to reach the
visitors. But that is not surprising as they are goldens after all. What
else would you expect? Yes, they loved it and it was so good for
them to be handled for their socialization. Needless to say, when
the company left, they settled back down for a long long nap.
