| Only hours old and now all cleaned up the puppies get weighed again. Frequent weighing is necessary to make sure all the puppies are getting their fair share of mommy milk and gaining as they should. |

| In the early hours of Monday morning, June 28th, when all should be sleeping, Kali decided she had waited long enough for her babies and began whelping her puppies. She was 1 day ahead of her initial due date. When Kali gets around to business there is no stopping her. All the puppies were born within a 2 1/2 hour time span with the first pup making his appearance at 2:25 am and the last one entering their wonderful new world at just 5:00am. It is not unusual for the birthing process to exceed 12 or more hours. Well, it was great for me and my assistant who were then able to get Kali and the new pups cleaned, weighed, ID'd and situated with fresh bedding, in time for us to grab a couple of hours sleep before the new day really began. |

| Nothing like a nice snooze after having a refreshing bath, while the pups fend for themselves. |
| Nursing the puppies takes a lot out of mom (figuratively and literally), so Kali takes a minute to replenish her resources. |
