Song: BRING HIM HOME
.
This final week here, for the pups has been very busy.  They have had so many new happenings.  Unfortunately they were not
too thrilled about their first new experience, which caused them to feel something strange around their neck.  I put collars on
them so they can get used to the feeling, so when their new parents present them with their own  new collar it will not be a big
deal   At times, I would see one of them scratching at it. They seem to be adjusting to them nicely now. They will have so many
new experiences when they leave here that getting used to a collar, will just be one less they will have to contend with.

This week they finally met all the other dogs that are presently living or boarding here and Reilly is now allowing other dogs to
hang out is their room. She has been a very protective mom with these puppies, it makes me wonder whether she realizes this is
her last litter and was savoring the parenting of these babies.  I am glad she is allowing them in this room now because, being
Golden Retrievers, they always want to be with people, and  it has been so hard for them to have to stay in the other rooms,
when I was in here with the pups and they weren't allowed in.

With all this rain we have been having, it was a rare treat to get a nice dry hot day, so I decided to let them play outside for the
first time.   They relaxed in the pool, not quite so sure what to make of it at first. But it was not too soon before they began
playing in it.  They also  had so much fun running loose around the yard chasing the big dogs who ran away from the pups in
order to fetch a ball I threw.  After that short adventure, they were placed in an ex-pen and were able to just hang out in a safe
environment away from large birds and trampling dogs and enjoy the fresh air and all the new sounds and sights.

Still later in the week they met another new person as she played with them as they were being administered the Puppy Aptitude
Test (PAT) by my friend Pat.  They loved it, not realizing they were actually being observed to help determine what type of
personality they are developing, which will help the new families in picking the best puppy for them.  They didn't need a test to
let others see how sociable they are.  After each pup was tested and  returned to the whelping box, some of them protested
loudly to show their displeasure at being put back in the box.  They just can't help it, they are Goldens and love being with
people.

Yes, its been busy, busy, busy, but wait-- there's still more.  At the end of the week still  another new adventure awaited them.
That was the visit to the vet's office.  After the long car ride in a not too large crate, they soon realized it was so worth it, as they
had the chance to be cuddled by the staff, while they awaited their turn for the exam.

Finally, they are now old enough to leave their birth mommy and human birth mommy and continue their journey of life in their
permanent homes.  They just have to wait a few more days before they will  meet their new families and do what Goldens do
best, which is to bring joy and love to everybody they meet.
